Choose an MT5 Trading Journal: A Requirements Checklist
The useful MT5 journal is the one that handles your required source, review process and disclosure needs. Start with the native reports already available, identify the missing task and compare external tools against that task. Use the checklist below to compare how a candidate handles your source, notes, exports and privacy.
Start with a specific job
Decide whether you need to preserve execution records, write decision notes, review a selected period or share a report. Those jobs require different controls. An analytics connection does not automatically provide reflective notes, complete historical equity or an independent audit.
MT5's native report already includes performance and risk views. Its Journal log records platform events. Check these before buying another tool solely on a claim that MT5 lacks analytics.
Use a comparison sheet with observable acceptance checks

Mark each requirement as confirmed, missing or not checked. If you did not execute a check, do not mark it passed merely because a product page describes the feature. Keep the source and date of each observation with your comparison.
What is currently available in MyVeridex
MyVeridex currently offers MT4 and MT5 investor-password connections and supported closed-transaction statement imports. The investor login is read-only; the MetaTrader permission guide explains its distinction from a trading login. Exact server availability and successful collection still need checking.
The Journal screen has notes, an emotion selection, strategy presets and tags. It also offers a limited recent-trade selection for an entry summary. Do not assume that this establishes a permanent transaction-by-transaction audit link or that a qualitative tag was automatically supplied by the broker.

Match limitations to the intended use
A statement import cannot restore every historical floating-equity value. A public profile is not necessarily the full ledger; inspect the data that a logged-out reader actually sees. A product badge does not establish account ownership, legal identity or independent assurance.

Compare a small, defined workflow before committing
Use one agreed account and reporting period to compare the original statement with a candidate tool. Check the rows and costs, add a permitted note, reload it, inspect an export and review any intended public view. Record differences and unavailable controls instead of inventing a score.
For collection and ongoing data quality, use the separate automated journal checks. A tool that meets those checks for your situation can still have limits; the result does not establish a universal winner or predict trading performance.
